Youth Classes
School of Rock
2013 Program
CityROCK Climbing Center offers youth climbing programs for kids ages 2 and up.
Our School of Rock curriculum has been developed to introduce kids of any level to climbing through games, circuit training, and balance and agility exercises in a fun and engaging environment.
Whether your child is a newcomer or a current climber, our youth program teaches children a physically and psychologically beneficial sport. Students will learn valuable skills such as confidence, teamwork, communication, and personal and group responsibility. Based on the age and the experience we also offer more advanced classes such as Club Colorado and Team Colorado.

Team Colorado Green
Climbers who want to advance their skills will meet twice a week to work under the watchful eyes and mentoring of skilled coaches. Through structured group programs that are designed to take each climber to another level, participants will improve strength, movement, and technical skills. While not as rigorous as the Red Team, climbers who choose this option must be highly motivated, open to receiving constructive feedback, and willing to do "homework." Best for those who want to be social and yet still work hard to advance their climbing.
Team Colorado Red
Climbers who are looking to maximize their climbing potential in a rigorous environment with high expectations that will challenge them physically and mentally will excel on this team which requires coach approval to join. Highly skilled and successful coaches will analyze each climber's abilities and tendencies to determine an individualized program that will push them beyond their perceived weaknesses and limitations.
Committed, hard-working climbers who are willing to structure their lives around maximizing their climbing abilities should consider this option. Coaches are looking for climbing ability but are equally concerned with self-motivation, attitude, and openness to opportunities for continual improvement in climbing and in life.
This team is a perfect situation for those who have come to realize that it doesn't have to be "fun" all the time for it to be "fun."
Brett Pierce, Head Coach
Brett has been a climber for over 35 years and a junior high school English teacher for over 15 years. Coaching at CityROCK allows him to combine both of these passions. Brett believes that climbing well is more about refining movement over developing strength and that it is more important to enjoy the process than to focus on the final result.
